CONVICT FILMS AND MADCAP PRODUCTIONS Zen Pom’s are the original designs used for a forthcoming comedy art film, to be launched mid 2016. The creative process has now moved on and AKA Whistles, Matt Whistler's alter ego with a whistle for a head, has been awarded a special CGI spacecraft by his genius editor. In this piece, (the early rough draft concept stage) AKA Whistles flies through the air on a giant Pom Pom made from jumpers. This collection illustrates the journey of the creative and sometimes mentally challenging process, to complete one scene for a film. The scene of AKA Whistles floating through the sky was constructed through using the constraints of the old software package called paint. This gives the Pom Pom flight a realistic feel with slight turbulence through skipping/not including a few frames. The Pom Pom is an artistically/digitally enhanced image taken from the UK Brighton Fashion show and is an attempt at breaking the world record for the world's largest Pom Pom. Matt Whistler was invited to launch the Pom Pom and as an act of artistic endurance found himself standing naked on top of a huge mound of jumpers surrounded by a blast of colour. The film scene will be included in the forthcoming movie. Both AKA Whistles and the pom pom are still going to be used in the movie but not in the same context as seen in these prints. The pieces illustrate the early drawing board stage with basic story boarding. The final movie is now 70% finished and is going to be spectacular. Each Zen Pom original is a component part / frame of the entire scene and if exhibited together, the eye can see the subtle journey of the Zen Pom until Matt Whistler's alter ego character: AKA Whistles begins to exit the frame. A sort of flick book exhibition, but without the flicking. THE WORLDS BIGGEST ROBOT On the back of each piece is a cryptic clue which links to all the other Zen Pom pieces. When a Zen Pom piece is sold, it’s cryptic clue will be revealed on www.mattwhistler.com When all the Zen Pom pieces are sold, all the cryptic clues will be accessible for the world to work out the whereabouts of the world’s biggest robot created by Matt Whistler. Matt Whistler would love to host an exhibition bringing together all the pieces that helped unravel the great art mystery.
