About The Artwork
'Escher's Table' Started life as a sketch inspired by Maurits Cornelis Escher. The digital drawing grew in detail and size until it had reached a sufficiently high resolution image that could be mistaken, when printed, for an actual photograph. I then included a touch or Salvador Dali to one corner of the table, mainly for amusement, as I wanted the 'impossibility' to be a little more obvious when viewed quickly. I then photographed a model in my studio at the correct angles, adding her to the table by drawing the two pictures together. I like fooling the eye into believing in 'reality' where 'reality' is mainly an artwork. The process was completed by printing the image as a C-type high resolution photograph of an attractive lady seated on a table - visually so very simple and effective, yet disguising many tens of hours of precision draughtsmanship and photographic know-how. 'Escher's table' has been exhibited recently in an exhibition of Art and generated quite a response from the viewers! I hope you like this picture too. On the rear of this picture is the Limited Edition Provenance certificate and a sheet explaining the concept and methods used in its creation. It is limited to one of ten prints.
