About The Artwork

As a youth I would collect autographs of notables. I met Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela, Audrey Hepburn, Frank Sinatra, The Clintons, Ella Fitzgerald, Patrick Swayze, and over 1000 others. This image somehow has the ghost of Michael Jackson in the back as a shadow. It clearly looks like the King of Pop which makes it rare and a phenomenon never experienced. I met Michael Jackson alone with a young girl coming out of his limo in a garage in Washington, DC. I was in town collecting autographs during The Innaguration of President Bill Clinton. When I met George Michael, I had just viewed the video where he showed the most beautiful models in the world. I was in love with them and his music. I met him as a young boy at The Mark hotel in Manhattan. He was surrounded by guards but let me come over and talk to him. We spoke for a few minutes and he signed some autographs. I asked him for a photograph and this is it. He passed away and now this image from my youth is my art. I take photographs of nature, celebrities from my youth and my daughter. I believe the photographs I take share light and love. I believe even though this image is grainy it shares a moment in time. George Michael was a young rockstar on top of the world. I was a young man in awe of his celebrity. I now write books and am 38. I remember these days and mourn his passing. It is 6x4 inches in size. The piece is hand signed and numbered by artist and photographer Blake LeVine. He hopes the ghost of Michael Jackson and George Michael brings musical blessings to the buyer of the piece. Will you be bad or have faith? Did these two legends die with shame instead of the fame they may have deserved. I know Paris Jackson claims her dad was only helping people. George was found doing sex acts in parks. What did these two musical legends face, that turned them from pop icons to somehow tragic figures. What legacy do they leave? What does it say about music, culture and the price of fame?
