About The Artwork

Through my working trip in India 2012 the portraits I have shoot are my best work. All these people are ordinary villagers. I still remember my exhaustion traveling around in the poorest, tourist unknown places for months, sleeping in a tent or wherever it happens. I haven't compose the expressions, I only asked if I may take a photo of them. I wasn't sure if I want these portraits to be seen at all, now, years later I thing they should be exposed. The Installation includes 10 portraits 20/30 centimeters printed on Tiffany canvas with subframe. The composition I have chosen for arrangement of the photographs is inspired by Wassily Kandinsky's work.

Why is he always with his cameras but rarely takes them out of the bag? Why suddenly he leaves his own space and goes all over the world, leaded by his inner wind? What kind of inner call guides him to the photography's limits and humanity's depths? Strahil is communicating not only with the surrounding visible word, but also behind it. Working not only with what you can see and touch but also the energy's dialog. Looking at you with strong, wide opened, quiet eyes. As a man who has seen inside the people's souls he depicts you in a split of a second. He speaks the unspeakable language. He hears the deaf people's melody. He sees the blind man's world. He feels the child's curiosity. Strahil had gone through a long path until he found his heart inside the camera's body. Since the beginning he plays on our soul's string with his photography. Strahil's great silent photography plays to us the symphony between the material and spiritual.--------------------------------- Mariya Luvchieva
