London, Bankside. Looking up at the west end of the Tate Modern art gallery. Converted by Herzog and de Meuron from the disused Bankside Power Station in the year 2000, this is now one of London's most popular attractions. The original monumental design by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott still stands proud on the south bank of the River Thames, with it's functional but beautifully detailed design. This is a great example of form following function, and the modern additions sit alongside the original design perfectly.

Living in Surrey, on the edge of London, England, Mark Hazeldine is a photographer with a passion for architecture and design. A keen drawer of buildings and transportation from a young age, Mark studied design at Kingston and Coventry universities and developed an interest in photography along the way. "I am constantly inspired by the buildings around me and the life of cities, especially my home city of London. I love seeing the details in buildings that other people just walk past without noticing and I want to show off these lovingly crafted designs in my work and portray them at their best. These designers and the craftsmen who built their buildings deserve to have their work noticed and appreciated".
