Michael"˜s love of photography began at the age of ten when his Grandfather Dallas Mining, a dust bowl survivor and entrepreneur shared his passion for capturing black and white images. From that point on he was hooked. Photographing everything in sight, Michael was a member of the year book team in high school responsible for documenting school activities on film. As an adult, he has worked for many photography companies in the U.S. and in West Africa photographing everything from surgical procedures to weddings, portraits, landscapes, and animals. Currently, in addition to creating one of a kind art for the public, he designs and creates unique visual concepts for small to medium size businesses. Michael is active in the community and often you will find him at "The Pulaski County Humane Society" photographing dogs for the rescue's website. While traveling and working in the U.S. and Africa, Michael captured sensations, emotions, sounds, and light in a way that clearly conveys the essence of the moment. These photographs are being shown publicly for the very first time. Since 1998 Michael has resided in Arkansas, currently living in Thornton. His children (2 boys) live in Oklahoma City and Baton Rouge. The process used to produce photographs include capture on 35mm film and then scanned to digital format or capture with a digital camera. Next the photograph is cropped and color balanced, followed by either a filter program or a series of digital layers to adjust color, light, and reflection. The final photograph is then printed on a high quality museum grade canvas or photographic paper and topped with a protective layer to help prevent fading or damage.
