About The Artwork

PRINT DESCRIPTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Obscurity" Obscured and surreal are just a couple of words I would use to describe the “Keeping Memory Alive Center” in Las Vegas. This is the third image in a series of shots I took of this unique architectural design. When I circled around and found this angle from underneath and as though I was inside the building, all the infrastructure supporting the odd angles in the front became pronounced. There was this one unique Yellow and Orange post that I focused in on, and that's how I balanced out the busy lines created by all the intertwined beams. I look at it today and find the breaking sun reflecting off one of the beams and the deep blue sky all the more captivating. While there's a lot going on, its configurations is what makes this image unique. This design also flies in the face of traditional architecture and perhaps that was the architects original intention, so that the building would force us to look at things differently and that the research going on behind the understanding of Alzheimer’s requires us to think “outside the box”. As this architecture is a testament to creative achievement and to pushing the limits on conventional thinking. PRINT DETAILS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Limited to an edition of 15 regardless of size. This means I will produce only 15 original signed prints of this image regardless of size. This print will be signed & numbered on the back and will include a Certificate of Authenticity. Brandon LeValley (1954) is a photographic artist from the United States. In 1976 he graduated from Washington State University where his Bachelor’s Degree included Art studies. He’s always had a passion for photography. That desire was fueled early in life when he was still shooting film and utilizing a darkroom to process images. Holding a final print offered a world of experience seeing how the light on a subject materialized. Years later he realized the digital camera had revolutionized processing. Today, he converts most images to black and white and often shoots botanicals for their dramatic lines and shape. He’s also drawn to architecture and landscapes. Living near Joshua Tree National Park provides many dramatic configurations that come from his explorations. While his journey in photography has evolved, it’s often ignited by striking lighting. He’s fascinated by the abstract and uses every tool to achieve a finished composition. A unique image, he believes, comes about by a disciplined and oftentimes exhaustive approach. Knowing the payoff can be rewarding, that commitment to detail ultimately renders a more compelling work.
