Shipwrecked Photograph

I took this photograph in 2012, on a windswept night on a deserted beach in Devon, England. There was so little light I was in danger of losing equipment in the dark, and my photographic strobes, mounted on tripods, were sitting in several inches of water and in danger of being knocked over by the next wave. Poor Corrina, my model, was soaked and freezing (I was pretty chilly standing barefoot in the water). But despite the darkness, the sand and seawater, we got the image I wanted. Dark clouds created an ominous atmosphere. I wanted to create the look of a girl washed up on the shore following a shipwreck, as so often happened around Devon and Cornwall shore in years gone by.
