Printed on Hahnemühle 305gr Fine Art paper using 12-color pigment inks ensuring archival longevity. Delivered with a certificate of authenticity and the artist’s signature. Signature on back of print. Different sizes on request. From the series "Ghosts in the Wall". Employing a documentary approach in the sense that I am a hunter/gatherer waiting for a photograph to reveal itself to me, I capture the betwixt existence of characters embedded within the poster mash-ups on public walls. Layers of commercial ads randomly torn and scraped away in preparation for a new poste reveal a strong and beautiful juxtaposition of line, colour and form. Occasionally these paper murals hanging in limbo unveil more - expressive faces and figures, crying out from between the torn layers unaware they are to be obliterated by the next layer of advertising. (No digital alterations have been used to create these images)

Mark McEvoy has been a photographer for over 30 years, travelling extensively pursing long-term projects at home and abroad. His eclectic work is series based, mostly led by his fascination with human behavior, cultural and psychological identity and the contrasts that divide the world through opposing beliefs and traditions. Since completing an MA in Design and Interactive Media (2001) he has been exploring digital-photo narrative through video, sound and music as well as experimenting with traditional and digital photographic processes. His work stems from a documentary approach that is intuitive and visceral. Through technical constraints and specific approaches he seeks what lies below the surface, unnoticed or ignored. He is interested in developing a visual language that sits in limbo, betwixt and between, blurring the boundaries of genres, modes, disciplines and realms.
