About The Artwork

During the 1990's I traveled to the Mideast often to document ancient art. I lived in Egypt in the 1970's, and know it well. I also ventured other countries to photograph ancient sites. At Karnak, I slipped through the back gates at Karnak at dawn before the guards were awake, and inside the Hypostyle Hall, I set up my camera to photograph the giant carved Ramses columns, when a guard entered my viewfinder as he swept away the footprints from the day before. The dust makes it magical.
