Ansalas is a contemporary artist born in Argentina, who is defined by creating photographic images of minimalist character through a work process where the camera is used in an unconventional way. Somehow the work follows a system or thought process that alludes to the very essence of photography, which is to write/draw with light. Through superimpositions, transparencies, permutations and juxtapositions of lines and planes, Ansalas carefully composes the reality of the image. Her exploration focuses on the variables of spatial construction, the different qualities of movement and visual perception. The forms created do not exist in reality, but are drawn photographically through the movement of the camera. Their different variations can produce solid or ethereal forms, spaces with depth or flat surfaces that fluctuate between abstraction and spatial illusion.
