About The Artwork

iPhoneography This is an image of a stand up paddler at Lanikai Beach, Oahu, Hawaii, shot from the vantage point of me swimming in the water. This photo is from a series of images called WET. To make the series, I purchased a wetsuit for my iPhone, brought the phone into the ocean and then purposely and continually covered the lens with water to make images that captured the ocean as seen through refracted water. The striations in the image were the result of this process. The images in this series were shot with in iPhone 5 contained in a waterproof case using the Hipstamatic Oggl app, and have not been manipulated beyond the orginal Oggl filters with which they were shot. This image was printed full bleed by me in pigment inks on archival, glossy photo paper at 8" square. The photo was then mounted to 8" square birch wood cradled with 1.5" finished pine supports; that means it does not require a frame. The photo is hand signed and numbered on the verso. This image is #1/5 in an edition of five (5).
