Chromogenic print edition 2 / 20 A expressionist conceptual study of the London underground. Around 2003 / 2004 I decided to embark on a personal project exploring the underground life of the city. Tunnels of tube stations are Non Places normally populated by large crowds. They are busy, full of movement... however they are places where the sense of solitude can be strongly present. During the several visits, I could easily connect with that solitude. I often felt a sense of invisibility... of being there, observing that world with my camera while people would just pass me by without seeing me. It was a strange feeling that reflect what life can be in big cities. As an artist, I enjoyed the freedom that it enabled me. The possibility to use those spaces as a canvas to create my own world. Accompanied by signed and numbered - certificate of authenticity from André Lichtenberg Studio
