Tess Lackey is a printmaker working in Fort Worth, TX. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wyoming and an Associates in Rangeland Management from Northwest College. Her early adult life was spent working on ranches where she would document western scenes as a self-taught graphite artist, until a printmaking class in 2018 completely shaped her artistic focus on reduction and relief printmaking techniques. With a deep connection to the land, Tess creates work based on her surroundings. The location or region can often be identified within her works, while the narrative built around a place is romanticized from her own thoughts and feelings. Her work has been exhibited across Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming, and she is the recipient of numerous awards including a second place award in the “Printmaking in the Rockies and on the Great Plains” juried show for the reduction print, “Moab”.
