Ships in a Crate
Graphics Tabula V are the fifth series from the cycle entitled Machinae. The cycle was created for more than two years, until the beginning of 2014. It includes more than 100 large-format works, divided into 5 series - tables. The works are made with authorial multi-layer technique and are composed of the dozens of colored linocut items. The theme of the cycle and the intention was to extract and capture the aesthetics of machines. The tables imitate technical schemes, though they are just absurdly mixed elements.

Bio Natalia Tarnawa, born in 1983, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław in 2007. Graduated in painting at the studio of prof. A. Dobrzaniecki and with an annex to the diploma in graphics from prof. Ch. Nowicki and dr. M. Warlikowska. She lives, works and creates art in Wrocław. Currently the artist deals with graphics and acrylic painting. Main themes are landscapes and memories from travels. Graphics are multi-colored and multi-level, reduced linocuts. Statement I mainly deal with graphics and acrylic painting. My central theme and motif is the landscape and memories from travelling. I focus on discoveries of undeveloped spaces between painting and large format printmaking. I combine the liberty of color patches with the illustrative quality of linocut lines, often supplementing them with experimental media. I also create series of small, acrylic pictures, in which I show the multiplicity of impressions of a single landscape. The results are the extremely vivid colors and the richness of shapes, highlighting the organicity of painting material, which is the paint. I draw inspirations from journeys, then referring in my works to beheld landscapes and elements of local, folklore traditions and cultures.
