About The Artwork
Over The Edge is a high quality Limited Edition Giclee print of 25, on 300gms Minuet paper from the original charcoal drawing on wooden panel. It is sold unframed, carefully packaged and shipped in a tube. Over The Edge is a print from my ongoing series of the horse in motion. I love drawing movement, and about 3 years ago, I started to use the horse as model alongside my figurative work and love to capture its power, energy and grace. With this image, I wanted to create a dynamic composition with strong negative space and was captured by the feeling of freedom we can get from just the movement of the tail and the back legs ! The original drawing was on wooden panel and you can even see the very slight grain to the wood as the print is such a great reproduction of the original with incredible level of detail.

Through drawing and painting, Patsy McArthur deals with various themes in her work but in many of the images, there is a common feeling of strength and liberation. She often strives to make images that convey a sense of power and energy or potential energy. Patsy McArthur was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1976 and studied at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen, winning the Royal Scottish Academy John Kinross Travel Scholarship on graduation. Since then she has lived and worked in Florence and Barcelona where she completed a Masters Degree in European Fine Art in 2001. She has exhibited widely throughout the UK and internationally, and in recent years has had solo shows in London and Geneva as well as participated in art fairs throughout the US and Asia.
