Gina photographs her own painted textures as well as metal, walls, angles and light to create her digital collages While being unable to travel during the pandemic, Gina reflected on her time spent in Italy and working from her own reference photographs the results are a collection of compositions printed onto photographic papers and copper plate. These works give a sense of place by representing the shapes, colours and overall essence of the environment including the heat of Sicily. Printed on to c-type metallic photographic paper. Available on alternative substrates. **These works can be licensed for trade projects and printed onto a variety of substrates in larger sizes.

Gina Cross is a multi-disciplinary artist and curator whose work investigates the relationships between shapes, colour and light. Within her own art practice she is currently working with metals, fabrics, paper and wood - often reclaimed. The foundation for the collections are based on her interpretation of places she visits, and her physical responses to each place with different colours, shapes, line and form, creating imagery using photography, digital tools, paint and collage. Originally trained in Textiles, Gina’s approach to her work is to play and experiment with a number of materials and processes to generate her artwork. Sweeping layers of paint on board are incorporated into photographic and digital compositions, alongside original paintings on metals, board, canvas and linen. Recently, Gina has been exploring working with reclaimed copper and aluminium panels, including painting, etching and printing directly on to the metals, using both analogue and digital processes. Gina’s ongoing research is in to the effect of light and colour on our wellbeing both in her own work and of the artists she collaborates with.
