Spring was inspired by James Joyce's formula for creation ex nihilo "aleph, alpha, naught, naught, one." At either end of the image is an omega. In this case, the last letter is standing in for mystery. Everything in between is what can be known. I love the Kabalah's take on god and the origin of all things "en soph" also called "nothingness" also knows as "divine will" these things at first might feel like contradictions but over time with much consideration, they begin to fold together and make some sense.
