Birgitta Arts is a Dutch artist established in France. She favours the monotype technique, creating unique, one-of-a-kind works on paper. Time restriction, immediacy of the gesture and irreversibility of the action, are just a few characteristics inherent to the technique through which the artist develops her printmaking language, reflecting on a world in the making. The use of subtle tone and gradients are characteristic of her monochrome monotypes. The overall work explores the great challenges facing human relationships and what it entails being human in a technology driven environment. It examines the changing nature of the spaces we inhabit and the meaning of physical reference. www.artsbirgitta.com www.owop.eu
