In Woman & Dog (2016), we are blown away by Mudgett's ability to mix depth and playfulness to create strong emotional connection in this masterful work of art. A tribute to his long time lover and their pet dog, this painting displays the delicate nature of their relationship and we are given a glimpse in to the intimacy shared between the artist and his subjects. The woman, sitting in childlike pose, legs sprawling forward, appears larger than life as she precariously holds the dog in her arms. The animal's bewildered look reflects the possible tension of the times in which the artist lived. These beautiful limited edition prints were meticulously created after the original works (Oil Paintings, Charcoal Drawings, Linoleum Cuts etc.) by master printers in Los Angeles, who worked closely with Mudgett to bring you this remarkable collection. They are printed in an edition of 100 on museum-quality cotton Moab paper. To ensure authenticity, each print is signed and numbered in pencil by the artist on the front and stamped with the atelier seal on the reverse. Paper size is 24 x 18 in, 70 x 46 cm. Image size is 20 x 14 in, 50.8 x 45.7 cm + full margins. Part of a Limited Edition set. Includes a Certificate of Authenticity issued by the artist.

American painter, draftsman, printmaker, and sculptor Christopher Mudgett (b.1982) is a pioneering contemporary artist who rejects traditional abstraction in favor of recognizable subject matter, deliberately employing a raw style of rendering and a heightened monochromatic palette in order to convey direct emotion. Embracing the artistic developments of the first half of the 20th century (cubism, expressionism, minimalism), Mudgett returns the human figure to a central position in painting. Doing so in an ever new and dynamic way.
