About The Artwork
This sculpture was made with wood logs carved with a chain saw. The steel was old rusty re-bar and the head is made with a pieces from the top of a barbed wire fence. The idea was originally to attach barbed wire to all three of the beaks on the birds. Inspired by a drawing and a mono print. These where photographed at Johnson State College where they were also close to where they were fabricated. They were part of the Johnson Works Sculpture Show, summer of 2009. They are now stored outside in a field next to a rapid in a river.
