About The Artwork

I'm really not bitchin' but I offered to make a larger replica of this statue, for the city of Amsterdam. Free of work charges. They thought it was “not appropriate”. The statue represents a male sex worker (Sex Worker’s Opera will soon, finally, perform in Amsterdam, to a full house, after the success in other cities. Created in 2013, it took pity on Amsterdam in 2018). Is there anyone who hasn’t heard of the Red Light district of Amsterdam? It’s not the only city in the world who has sex workers in windows or houses, it’s just nice to stroll along the canals and watch the scene. There are 2 bronze statues dedicated to sex workers in Amsterdam, of course they depict women. And while there are male workers in the windows and brothels of Amsterdam, they’re “off-Broadway” so they won’t enrage the good Christians visiting. My homage to the male sex workers all around the world is the subject of several of my works. The novels I read about the NY 42nd street (before Giulianni "cleaned" the city) moved me.
