About The Artwork
This self-standing sculpture regards the realization of finding out that someone is very different from whom you thought they were when you first met them. I chose this particular rendition of objects because a tree is strong, long-lasting and has deep roots and sturdy branches. Books and paper can be made from tree sources but are very different from one another otherwise. A book is a substantial collection of paper pages and has a story to tell. A sheet of paper is thin and fragile and can be seen through quite easily when held up to the light.
