About Karl Geckler Karl Geckler is an architect and sculptor based in Chicago, IL Karl graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg, Virginia and has worked for the architectural firms SOM, GREC Architects and Taller de Arquitectura, as well as maintaining a private architectural practice. He studied stone carving in Pietrasanta, Italy and tool and die/welding in Chicago. His passion is the art of stone carving and he has taught hundreds of students this craft. He is currently focused on sculpture and furniture designs.
