About The Artwork

Welcome to our online art gallery, where we showcase exceptional works of art from artists around the world. Today we present to you a stunning contemporary abstract stone sculpture titled 'Light in The Dark.' This piece is inspired by the idea that there is always light at the end of the tunnel, and it is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. Hand-carved by the talented artist Washington Msonza, this African statue is crafted from brown Serpentine stone, which beautifully displays a range of stunning colors on its surface. Measuring large enough to be a striking focal point in any garden, this sculpture comes with a signed certificate of authenticity, guaranteeing its origin and quality. Washington Msonza is an accomplished sculptor who was born in Makumbe, Domboshava district in Zimbabwe. He learned his craft from renowned sculptor Nicholas Mukomberanwa, and has since worked alongside other accomplished sculptors such as Locadia Ndandarika and Gedion Nyanhongo. Washington's sculptures have been exhibited in galleries around the world and have gained popularity with private collectors in many countries. In 1991, Washington's work was featured at the annual Heritage Exhibition of the Zimbabwe National Gallery, and he has since led international workshops, including the International Changchun Sculpture Symposium in China. With his exceptional skill and talent, Washington has risen to become one of the most sought-after Shona sculptors in the world, and his work continues to inspire and captivate audiences worldwide.
