For medieval exegesis, and for very ancient tradition even today, Mary Magdalene, a follower of Jesus and saint of the Catholic Church, is also identified with the figure of Mary of Bethany or with the sinner. In 591 Pope Gregory the Great, moreover, approaches the figure of Mary to the redeemed adulteress saved by Jesus by stoning. Hence the figure of this woman, transformed into this ready-made in an opulent prostitute. The head of the woman is covered by a transparent veil, like the women of the time, but in this case it is a fictitious veil that is plastic. The chest is adorned with necklaces as a symbol of gift for the adoration of the saint, but also as a reference to modern pop culture. In the lower part of the body the woman holds the lowered and broken tights with one hand, clearly referring to adultery and modern prostitution. Finally, the pubis is decorated with a merkin in the shape of a cross, a blasphemous symbol with a reference to the importance for the woman of Jesus who saves her from stoning.
