Mary's Daughter II Sculpture

By performing caricatured versions of human role models, her pet-size monkeys seem to as much take revenge on us as to make us aware of how much we mimic ourselves and others in order to be. By disclosing the importance of repetition as key to the maintenance of the status quo, Mitsys sculptures stimulates the viewer to challenge his or her thinking habits.
