When creating this sculpture, I chose a few of the normally subtle lines of the human figure and magnified them. They are the result of intersecting convex and concave planes that bring movement to the piece. The lines are abstracted in a way so that the human figure is recognizable, yet vague enough to be seen as possibly plantlike and biomorphic. The flow of the curves and textures became unified with the perfectly straight brass running the length of the piece.

About The Artwork

When creating this sculpture, I chose a few of the normally subtle lines of the human figure and magnified them. They are the result of intersecting convex and concave planes that bring movement to the piece. The lines are abstracted in a way so that the human figure is recognizable, yet vague enough to be seen as possibly plantlike and biomorphic. The flow of the curves and textures became unified with the perfectly straight brass running the length of the piece.
