Each piece is a black and white visual composition, or rather, a statement and a conversation between one or two 3 dimensional paper cuboids and their shadows, looking for a perfect square. The contrasts of the painted and real shades/highlights move around as the viewer moves too.

Each piece of the series was made with the intention of finding humour in mathematics and geometry. (Tall order.) The contrasts are the ying and the yang, the antagonist and protagonist, the salt and pepper of each illustration. There may be one or more perfect squares, in 3D or painted, projected in a form of a shade or stand out in white, depending on the way you look at it. It is searching for perfection in the inperfect.

Nothing is black and white until put into perspective...
