About The Artwork
Description: In 2001 I participated in the Stone Sculpture Symposium in Goa, India. Our facilities were settled deep in the jungle, within a bird-watching camp. One night all the participating artists (twelve of us, coming from different countries) were invited to a nearby village for a ceremony. We gathered in front of a village temple together with the inhabitants. Everybody could perform something or give a speech or whatever he felt was appropriate, so I decided to perform a trick of knife swallowing. The domestic people thought it was for real, they were so amazed that they all wanted to meet me and hold my hand and they started calling me the magic man. Year Created: 2003.
