About The Artwork

Sculpture made of bronze, stainless metal and canvas. Imagined a tall figure, very ethereal, whose body is affected by the wind. TIBIS is very uplifting, so I did not see him otherwise than on a light, high, detached from the ground. A standing sculpture only on a plane, in the direction of the cutout. In the relation between the sculpture and the basics, I wanted the figure to stand on a soft surface but with a specific shape. Way in every direction without gravity... TIBIS is not physically strong, but he is very penetrating, he sees more than others... TIBIS is an edition of six sculptures, each of the six sculptures will be treated differently. In this edition, I want to focus on the lightness and relations of various materials, hard, soft and of course color.

He was born in Strzelin, Poland in 1981 and grew up in a family with artistic traditions. During his high school days, he created his own compositions and advertising orders. In 2001 he began studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. During his studies, he also participated in the creation and organization of festivals, exhibitions and artistic and multimedia shows. He was a member of the unofficial art group "El Nino". In 2006, he graduated with honors from the sculpture studio of prof. Zbigniew Makarewicz. Inspired by human nature, he creates his works in the spirit of cubism and expressionism, manifested not only in forms, but above all in color. With the help of these three media, he tries to capture and close human feelings in matter and show their mutual interactions through the composition of interacting shapes and solids. In addition to fulfilling himself in contemporary art and sculpture, he also deals with classical sculpture, multimedia, computer graphics and animation.
