Migrants have also used the Tunnels to cross to other lands i.e. The English Channel and tunnel. Current events, place is an important factor in my work. I lived in the UK for several years where migration has taken place from time to time. The work in this image is textile orientated using folds, pleats to create the 3D effect. The work is small and does not have to be large to convey the message. Children have been affected in these sad surroundings especially in the USA where they have been separated from their parents. The sculpture is mixed media using wood as the base.

1944.Nairobi,Kenya. Most of my life has been spent in the UK and USA where I was also educated and have made my home. Travel has played an important part of my life and work. The work is influenced by place, time and memory. The artwork is textile based in which stitchery, collage and stitch is used in conjunction with digital photography. Recent work is in collaboration with a Poet in which the text is layered with stitch to add density of surface. These works are executed on handmade felt.
