About The Artwork
Bronze net, partly melted Modern Nomads displaced people who travel from place to place. Travellers or homeless folk driven by new hope or maybe fear, with various expectations, goals and forced needs. My figures represent the cravings of the uprooted wanderers of today, where more and more people move between different countries, cultures and beliefs. Uprooted from their own cultures and religions, these displaced individuals roam about confused with the world around them.

Tourists, immigrants, travelers, people just passing through, some more in evidence than others. Whatever else, I am particularly interested in those groups of immigrants who fall into the category of people who live without means. These people are laden with the hope of finding a better life in a prosperous country. Many make this long sea crossing, never achieving what they thought their journey would bring them.
