I would like to share with you the contrast and the brightness of colors of these bases. I love the fact that each base have a different design and may have a different meaning for each of us. Read the title of the work again. I love how the light reflects against the bases, especially against the big, the middle one. The roundness of it, definitely makes a bold statement, right there in the center of the painting. Painted on high-quality acid-free Arches watercolor paper, this art work is covered by protective glass, therefor some glaring is seen on the pictures. In addition, the work is nicely framed is ready to hang. This work will look great as a focal point or in a group of paintings, anywhere in the house or the office. Thanks to the neutral art subject, it also would do for a great gift to a friend or love one.

By training a psychiatrist, Sonia is a self-taught artist born in Peru. Currently retired, she lives in Ontario Canada. Many years ago, an intrinsic need for painting arose in me. I was felt moved by an interior force to look for brushes and pour my soul on sheets of canvases, paper, etc. Right then, I began to dedicate the few hours of my free time to immerse myself into my new discovery. I started by challenging myself with watercolors. I also tried myself in oils. Still, most of my work today is done in acrylics. As for my subjects, in the course of this discovery; I found inspiration in portraiture, nude, and landscape. Not long ago, I discovered abstract painting. Since, I spend my days enjoying this magical world. A world of color and unlimited imagination. I discovered that abstract is the kind of art that jealously hides all its rules and laws. To me, abstract painting is challenging, but it’s a challenge that makes me happy with myself. But most importantly, through this challenge, I reconciliate with the universe and with my own existence. Looking at my art it is easy to appreciate my love for color. Color makes paintings expressive. Contrasting colors evoke the mixed, often opposite feelings that sometimes overwhelm us. Bright colors subtly flirt with the eye and elicit positive emotions in us.
