When I start painting I always have an idea in my mind, what colours to use, the subject which I have a powerful feeling for, sometimes I don’t stop until finished, and I’m completely happy with it. I love painting people, but I want them to be distinct I want than to have a little mystery about them and for you to have an emotional connection with the painting see something in there no-one else sees. I want my painting to make a statement, to be timeless, exquisite, with an atmosphere of wonder and intrigue, to look stunning hanging on a wall providing enjoyment for many years to come. I thought you might like to know how the Egg collection came about, when I was a kid at school we would have to take our lunch box as there were no kitchen or cooking facilities when the dinner bell rang we would all sit on the floor to eat our lunch. Almost every day I had a fried egg on rice, the other kids would say, ‘Ta fried egg again, you will begin to start looking like a fried egg’. I used to plead with my sister to have something different but we had many chickens and many eggs so it was always fried egg on rice, it was easy for her…… One day I was frying an egg and thought that would make a great face………

Thailand
Ta Byrne is a Thai artist who lives and works on the beautiful island of Koh Samui, just off the south coast of Thailand. Her Oil Paintings . are vibrant, eye-catching and packed with a sense of fun and humour. Ta takes humans as her focal point in her Figurative Painting but abstracts these figures by distorting them and using a cartoonish style to create a more humorous feel. While her work is mostly representational, she incorporates Surrealist elements in many of her paintings, making her one of the most exciting artists working in Thailand today. Ta comes from humble beginnings, living out her childhood on the rural outskirts of Bangkok as a farmer's daughter. During her teen years, she worked sewing shirts in a Bangkok sweatshop, and it was during this time that she met an old street artist who invited her to his studio. This sparked her desire to become an artist, and since then, she has gone on to produce Abstract and Cubist paintings that have received international acclaim from art connoisseurs.
