ADRIAN WRIGHT Born in, and still lives in Banbridge, Co Down. Whilst recovering from illness, I studied at UBIFHE, Banbridge, attaining ‘A’ level, going on to a foundation course in Art & Design at Lurgan College and post ‘A’Level UBIFHE. As an avid motorsport fan, my earlier works concentrated on capturing local sporting legends such as Joey Dunlop MBE, OBE and Formula One star Eddie Irvine. Not wanting to focus just on motorsport, I soon added to the collection. George Best,(Football) , Brian O’Driscoll (Rugby), Peter Canavan (GAA), Armagh v Fermanagh (GAA) Darren Clarke (Golf) and the latest edition of Snooker World Champion, Alex ‘HURRICANE’ Higgins. Several of the originals had been commissioned by Gormley Gallery (Omagh, Belfast, Dublin). Each of the originals where reproduced in Limited Edition Prints and where possible, individually signed by the subjects. Many of these limited edition prints were sold into private collections both at home and worldwide. With a desire to explore back into the Fine Art field in which I first studied, my later works are more figurative, some based on the female form, in ballet capturing the elegance and movement. Jazz scenes also are a favourite, giving the opportunity to bring colour to music, atmosphere, warmth and expression. My style is bold and spontaneous with confident brush strokes and exciting use of colour.
