About The Artwork

This painting portrays the eternal love story of Radha and lord Krishna at Vrindavan from the Hindu mythology. It symbolises the divine union between the individual self and universal self. This artwork is inspired by Madhubani painting or Mithila painting which is an ancient art form of Madhubani district from Mithila region of Bihar in India. Mithila Painting was traditionally done on freshly plastered mud walls of huts with natural dyes and pigments but now they are also done on cloth, handmade paper, canvas, wood using different colour medium. Here I have chosen Acrylic colours on a handmade paper to bring out intricacy of the gorgeous painting. A specific technique is used - bharni where no space is left empty and unattended. Splendid colours are carefully chosen that strike a fine balance between grandeur and a feeling of tranquillity. This bright and beautiful artwork will surely bring a sense of peace, ecstasy and good fortune to viewers! This artwork comes without framing.

Hi! I believe learning art is a lifelong journey. I love to explore and keep experimenting and largely not restrict to a particular art form. I practice mix-media, folk art, abstract art out of different media. I am Manishi from India, settled in Bangalore. My art journey started right from my childhood, I am so influenced by rich childhood experiences, I used to spent hours creating paintings and handcrafted art work since that time. I believe, I am a self- taught artist first however enrolled myself into art courses later. Most of my summer vacations were spent by going to ancestral home; I have grown up experiencing nature’s beauty, bright colours and its gorgeous textures. Nature did not leave a single reason to amaze me; I used to adore spending my whole days near our pond which used to be full with iconic lotuses during those days. I used to enjoy being surrounded by the bliss of nature, exploring the place and creating my artwork inspired by everything around it. There are so many beautiful memories and they are real bliss of my life. Hence, nature inspired me to pursue art with passion. You will find a glimpse of iconic lotus in most of my artwork.
