About The Artwork
I made this painting during the lockdown in 2020. This piano master performer could be playing a piano concerto from Rachmaninoff; in the background, barely visible, some Parisian high rise apartments. The colors imply a warm inside environment contrasted by a blue cold, chilly outside. This work is already sold but not yet in a private collection, awaiting an exhibition in London.

I mostly like realist paintings, particularly the ones that have a subconscious element to it. I like to look at paintings for a long time, discovering specific cues in expressions, movements, poses and from there colors, color harmonies. In my own works I also like to take the time to discover the subjects, what works and where to exaggerate a bit and where to diminish.
