About The Artwork

During the matches of the traditional local football championship called: Inter- vilages the whole village will honor the Kabadio team. Children and women stand around the camp. Children run and scream everywhere and women, besides cheering a lot, sing and above all dance. The senegalese dance is known worldwide for its energy and strength. For many, the beauty of Senegalese dance is in the beautiful, strong and vibrant gestures of women who seem to move the whole body. We feel the earth tremble - the beat is enveloping .. the dust rises ... at sunset it is always a spectacle of lights projected on the scene. At the time of this photo, I became interested in the silhouettes of women - I was looking for a gesture that could try to represent this force present in Senegalese dance. It is the Senegalese woman who inhabits the heart of the whole stratagem of the senegalaise society. An older woman, called Mommy, is usually authority in the villages. Respected by all. In the social environment, women occupy a prominent place. And, no different, in dance she demonstrates all the beauty of her body and countenance at the same time as it proves the power that is within them.
