Ekaterina Gorokhova was born in Moscow. She graduated from Tri-Valley High-school (Nashport, Ohio, The United States). She studied Business and Finance at Touro College in Moscow, transfered the credits to go and study Graphic Design in London, U.K. Eventually she graduated from the Central St.Martin's School of Art and Design (The Byam Shaw Building) London, Great Britain, earning BA and Postgraduate Diplomas in Fine Art. She exhibited in Moscow, London, Berlin, New York, Toronto; she also curated exhibitions in London and Moscow (The Russian Academy of Arts). Gorokhova is a member of the Professional Artists' Union and the International Arts Fund. "Simple moments" series were displayed for a year in 2011 at PANAVTO, Mercedes-Benz showroom. There were articles published in such editions as "Russian gallery - the XXI century" 7-8 and PANAVTO: cars&people №6 (2011). Gorokhova taught fine art and ran an art-studio for children in Moscow area (2011-2013). 2013-15 She took an opportunity to go and study Animation and Film at UCOL (Palmerston North, New Zealand). At the moment she lives in Moscow. Katerina Gorokhova's work can be found in collections of Russia and abroad.

Katerina Gorokhova’s “Simple Moments”
The very first impressions creations by Katerina Gorokhova make remind of Pop Art traditions. Indeed, the trend, which first appeared in America in the 1960s, has given the world a most unusual art form which exists at the interface between non-figurative and material worlds. Katerina’s paintings feature photographic accuracy typical of Pop Art and slightly mannered contours of photographs filled with minimum colours. Such restrained colour arrangement prompts decorative conventionality, which makes images bright, memorable, and up-to-date. Three-dimensional volume gives place to two-dimensional volume which unfailingly makes objects plane. Such tricks combine to bring about intriguing play of stylistic meanings. On the one hand it seems natural to us that photos tend to instant perception and quick fixation of an image which is replaced by another one on a dime. Such effect is enhanced by the fact that Katerina’s creations are not based on posed shots.
