Damon Anthony

Damon Anthony Cureton (b.1969) is a contemporary British painter living and working in Italy.


Painting is very real for me, a part of life, it consumes me.
I have always made sense of the world around me through drawing and painting. Subject matter changes as life changes.
My current work explores the interaction of figures and space, how we and the space we inhabit are connected.

He has had a number of solo exhibitions and has been included in many group shows.

His recent work concentrates on figures and their interaction with
Art critic and curator Gabriele Romeo wrote about Damons work: 'Amazingly gestural, your colours vibrate as if to void barriers between space and time...your realism can be said to express the precariousness of a virtual balance in contemporary society, engulfed by mass mediation.'

While much of his work has a sense of interior tranquility, interests and subjects at the time dictate the style of work.
