Michael Scott

I've been painting since secondary school, when I first discovered artists like Salvador Dali and Gustav Klimt. After leaving school, I completed a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and then spent 6 months in Tokyo, Japan, teaching English. Whilst in Japan, I discovered the philosophies of Daoism and the emphasis of living in harmony. I have tried to continue this theme in my artwork, by studying how light is portrayed in nature, through luminous effects and how it correlates with colour. My current work centres on natural still life that conveys light frequencies which engage the human eye into perceptions of colour and light.

9th October - 3rd November '15 Newave Gallery - 'Paintings & Drawings' Group Exhibition.

6th of June '15 - Display at the Pathhead Community Hall, featuring prints, canvases and original artwork.

12th of May '15 - The Richmond Street deli, mixture of 11 pieces of work centred on studies into Light, colour and the relation of Art Nouveau and Japanese Ukiyo-e prints.

20th May '10 Mary's Living & Giving Shop - Mary Portas, Edinburgh, Stockbridge, mentioned on the Jonathan Ross show.
