spired by vintage fishing lures, buoys and bobbers, this is one of my original paper collages created on a cradled wood panel. The layers of paper and printed material give this piece a textural feel with a retro style motif. Using Hosho and masa print papers, I cut and collaged these mono-printed papers with catalogue cards, remnant papers, and blank print papers. The elements in this piece to give a sense of breath and simplicity within my work. The colored shapes reference a study of shapes in a timeless space. This collage is created on a 14" x 11" wood panel. Wired, signed and dated on the reverse. Framing is at the discretion of the buyer.

Ali Herrmann is a mixed media painter, colorist and science lover, whose work explores cellular structures as an origin into her abstract artworks. Creating what she terms ‘micro-biome landscapes,’ Herrmann uses SEM images and organic shapes as inspiration to explore concepts of blood, bacteria, fungi, and unicellular structures within her boldly colorful, abstract artworks. Exploring themes of repetition, rhythmic orders, geometric shapes, and chaos-order theory, Ali brings attention to nature's details that are often overlooked.
