ABOUT THE ARTWORK

A drawing this February in the Floating Faces series. I play with the idea to vary more with the dimensions of the drawings. Sometimes a drawing needs a smaller and more intimate dimension, but often a significantly larger size can also bring something new. This time the dimensions are still not changed but future work will certainly have another dimension. With my floating faces, I try to keep the space around the face empty. No association with the neck, shoulder or background. As the name suggests, free floating faces, where the viewer can see the faces freely with as little distraction as possible. The drawing is signed on the back side, Ideally frame this drawing!

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

I live and work in the Netherlands, creating art from my home studio in Amsterdam. My primary focus is on portrait painting, but I also explore abstract forms and enjoy drawing regularly for variety. My inspiration comes from what I call "the time between seconds"—the fleeting facial expressions that capture pivotal moments in life. This concept also informs my abstract work, which, unfortunately, isn't featured on this site. The portraits I create often draw from archives and various sources of inspiration, featuring individuals I don’t personally know or have met. This distance allows me the freedom to explore how each portrait can resonate with the viewer’s imagination. I aim to challenge the audience by evoking emotions and reflections on their own experiences. Ultimately, I hope to offer a moment of recognition and connection. Enjoy my creations! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. Amsterdam, Last Quarter 2024.
