Eugene Landscape Painting

The painting style used is "verismo", please see Wikipedia article on "American verismo." Essentially I begin with a sienna underpainted sketch and then continue with a wet into wet paint approach adding color. I keep the number of overa;; shapes to just a few to provide the "macchia" or overall stain that becomes the artwork. In this instance, since Eugene is a town with many trees and distant views of buttes and clouds, I created a plein air painting capturing Eugene's essence but maintaining the expressive brushwork that I am known for.
