I am an artist based in Osaka. I studied arts at the Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts Institute and Osaka University of the Arts. I draw inspiration from Ukiyo-E, Persian miniature and Ancient Egyptian art. My artwork can be divided into three main thematic areas: “Running Figures”, “Scenes of Professional Activity”, “Surrounding City and Nature Scenery” (1) “Running Figures” are illustrations of human aspirations for prosperity, goodness, improvements, development. “Running Figures” are chasing birds (chasing dreams), diving into the ocean (discovering new), running away from tsunamis and tigers (leaving troubles behind), running against the wind and blizzards (overcoming difficulties). “Running Figures” are schematic, decorative, simple in form and color, sacrifice aesthetics in favor of urge to move. They are intended to symbolize the active rather than the emotional side of human life. At the same time “Running Figures” are intended to cause sensation of running: heartbeat, the fresh air, the strength of the muscles, the joy of life. Therefor “Running Figures” serve two functions: 1) remind of aspirations, 2) give energy and inspire to move towards the goal. (2) “Scenes of Professional Activity” My main occupation is art, but by circumstances I had opportunity to get acquainted with other professions as well. Each professional environment has its own atmosphere, specific workday schedules, work processes and patterns that subordinate actions of each worker. At the same time, each employee has their own individuality and charisma. In “Scenes of Professional Activity” I study the interaction of a workplace discipline that demands unitarization and individuality of each worker. I see this interaction as a painting with a rigid composition, where each individual element is in its place, but has its own special character and colorful charisma. A rigid composition helps to reveal individual elements uniqueness, to open up and show itself in all its colors. Individual elements each in its own way color rigid composition, give it diversity, flexibility and vitality. Series of “Scenes of Professional Activity” include “School”, “Office”, “Kitchen”, “Carpenters”, “Museum”, “Theater” (3) “Surrounding City and Nature Scenery” Observing is an important part of creating process, it helps to find color combinations, new shapes, compositions.
