Born 1964 in Maastricht, The NetherlandsMarianne Pasmans attended the Academy of Fine Arts, Maastricht in the Netherlands. While finishing her first year she was giving an opportunity to work for the National State Archive as an Assistant in the Restoration department. Her time with the National State Archive provided her with access to history hands on; restoring & repairing amongst others books, seals, charts dating back to 1515. After 2 years of extensive training at the National State Archive she decided to return to the Academy. She did so while giving training courses in manual bookbinding at the Maastricht Graphic Art centre till 1987.Marianne returned to the Academy and obtained her Bachelor Degree in Product Design, major in Textiles & Fashion during which she worked with O'Neill Sportswear as an Associate Designer. With 2 more designers Marianne represented the Netherlands at the Igedo CPD fashion fair, Duesseldorf and oversaw the opening of 5 shops alone in Amsterdam for Scapa of Scotland Ladies & Gents fashion in an interior design assignment. She was also responsible for the purchase of collections for 7 Scapa shops. In partnership she continued to set up a franchise fashion brand named Country Style for both ladies & gents. For this new venture she was the overall designer from developing brand image to overseeing production & development of the franchises shop design & collection. During her 3 final years in the Netherlands, she joined the team at Artifort, a Dutch furniture brand famous for its designs by Pierre Paulin as well as being involved in the organisation of corporate art exhibitions in Utrecht. In august 1994, she moved to Bahrain. After working spending 13 years in the Banking & Finance industry she started her own company Pasmans Design in 2006 handling any projects relating to Art & Design. Marianne has had several exhibitions since and several large bespoke paintings adorn the walls of prestigious venues in Bahrain. She has over the years also designed a range of furniture produced in Bahrain and conducts art courses for art enthusiasts. She is currently working on a book on Plantations as well as developing a clothing fabric collection based on her artwork.
