About The Artwork

The series "Phänome" was created in May 2020 during the first lockdown of the Corona Pandemic. Air masses and pieces of land come togehter in these abstract landscapes. The works in the collection symbolize the unrest and the invisible turbulence that was going on emotionally and in real terms in many people around the world at that time. The artwork was painted with a reduced color palette and can also be hung together as a series. The artworks are painted on high-quality cardboard with a linen structure and lightfast artists' oil paint. The signature is on the back of the work. The images are provided with a protective varnish. The sheet size is 24 x 32 cm. The motif is fitted with a passe-partout measuring 30x40 cm and framed in a wooden frame from sustainable German production.

I am a freelance visual artist in painting and graphics and I live and work in Duisburg. The focus of my art lies in the elaboration of nature and landscapes developed from the study of certain landscape regions. I work in oil and acrylic on paper and canvas, as well as in the field of printmaking with the technique of monoprinting. In the implementation of my artworks, speed plays an important role, only a quick impulse and movement with the colour can make it visible what I have felt through my inner filter. My way of working cannot be planned, it develops during the painting process. Spontaneity and clarity are also important in my work. I have a great passion for the Nordic landscapes. that brings me back to my roots. In the recent years I made working trips to various Nordic countries such as Scotland, Sweden, Denmark, and the Faroe Islands. During the Trips I lived there in a camper van. This minimalistic kind of living bring me closer to nature and my feelings with a region. I painted outside and developed the first new artworks. I am looking for the core of a landscape. This can be a characteristic colour, a movement pattern, or an atmospheric sensation. Through the visibility of my traces of movement with the colour, I create a new perspective for the viewer. In times of increasing cultivation of landscape and climate change, the artistic engagement with this subject also has a documentary and political character. My art can be found in private collections in Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Kasachstan, Great Britain, Switzerland, Island, Tainwan, New Sealand, Australia and USA.
