This painting is a raw, emotional translation of the sea off the coast of Rimini. Inspired by a photograph taken by my cousin, a fisherman, I transformed the captured scene into an abstract piece that merges the elements of water, earth, and air. My artistic style, which I call "GRUNGE," is an exper...

I was born in Rimini, Italy, where the sea and history shape the soul of those who grow up there. Art has always been my language, my instinct. I pursued my passion at the Istituto d’Arte Scuola del Libro in Urbino, then deepened my studies in illustration in Venice with Emanuele Luzzati and in Sarmede with Arcadio Lobato. My love for large-scale painting led me to Florence, where I trained in the ancient technique of buon fresco. For nearly a decade, I lived in London, collaborating on handmade ceramic murals and pools for the Emirates market. Today, I work in my atelier in Rimini alongside my sister, Catia, crafting unique objets d’art in ceramic and wood. My artistic journey is driven by instinct and experimentation. I embrace imperfection, the unexpected, the raw beauty of the uncontrolled. This philosophy gave birth to my Grunge Art—a visceral, mixed-media approach that echoes the authenticity of Seattle’s grunge movement. I let materials interact freely: oil, acrylic, tar, and chemical solvents become active participants in the creative process. The tar, in particular, grounds my work—an earthy counterpoint to the fleeting nature of emotion and time. I don’t seek conventional beauty, but emotional truth. My work is a dialogue between control and chaos, a visual alchemy where figures emerge and dissolve. Each painting is a map of my inner world, an invitation to feel deeply, to connect beyond the surface.
