About The Artwork
This painting attempts to blend the fragility of life on the one hand, and the Apocalypse on the other. All human expression leaves a lasting mark on the world, as symbolized by the pot plant on the table, an expression of the state and fulfilment of life. Within this world, the human being is but a small particle of a larger plan. Some things which appear eternal in the here and now are but finite in the long term. As people pass through this world, they leave traces behind of prosperity, misfortune, and love gained or lost.
